KYIV, Ukraine (AA) - Ukraine preserved its resilience despite Russia’s "all-out war" against the country, the Ukrainian president said Friday.
"We have achieved vital military, financial, sanction, humanitarian and other necessary support for Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the Conference of Ambassadors of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy described his visit to Washington this week as "fruitful." It was his first overseas trip since the war broke out.
"We have a decision on strengthening our air defense. The Congress is working on a powerful financial package for Ukraine and global security -- 45 billion US dollars," he said.
On the Turkish-brokered Black Sea Grain Initiative, Zelenskyy said; "Our grain export initiative enables the world to overcome the severity of the food crisis."
He noted that from Ukrainian ports, more than 14 million tons of agricultural products have been exported to over 40 countries.
Zelenskyy also touched on prisoner swaps with Russia, the Second Crimea Platform Summit, Ukraine’s candidate status for EU membership and strategically important developments achieved after the beginning of the war.
"We need this level of events for Ukraine next year. We need to create events that could talk about Ukraine and our interests,” he said. “You should focus on this and ensure at least one such event per month for the sake of Ukraine," he said.
"We have to ensure new strong sanction packages (against Russia) next year."
