Ukraine says it downed 28 out of 29 Russian drones amid overnight attacks
Drones downed over country’s Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Kherson, Kirovohrad regions, says commander of Ukraine’s Air Force

ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukraine said on Tuesday that it downed 28 out of 29 drones launched by Russia during overnight attacks on multiple regions of the country.
Mykola Oleshchuk, the commander of Ukraine’s Air Force, said in a statement on Telegram that 28 drones were shot down over the country’s Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Kherson, and Kirovohrad regions.
Oleshchuk further said the drones were launched from three different directions, including Russia’s Krasnodar and Kursk regions, as well as the Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014.
In Ukraine’s northeastern city of Kharkiv, Governor Oleh Synyehubov said seven people were suffering from shock after debris from downed drones damaged 25 trucks and buses, as well as three cars.
He further said a three-story office building and four private houses were also damaged.
Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhii Lysak said on Telegram that two drones downed over his region damaged multiple commercial buildings.
Meanwhile, Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said on Telegram that seven high-rise buildings and seven private houses were damaged during airstrikes in the region.
He further said that hits were recorded at an educational institution, an industrial facility, a pumping station, and a gas pipeline.
