Ukraine says Russia attacked port of Odesa with hypersonic Kinzhal missiles for 1st time

MOSCOW (AA) - The State Emergency Service of Ukraine claimed on Saturday that Russia launched an attack on the port of Odesa using Kinzhal hypersonic missiles for the first time since the beginning of the conflict.

The service said in a statement that as a result, four people were wounded, and energy infrastructure and several administrative buildings were damaged.

Separately, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed launching an attack using Kinzhal missiles against multiple targets in Ukraine without specifying their location.

The ministry said in a statement that the strike was a retaliation for Ukraine's attacks against civilian objects in Russia.

Last week, during a visit to India, commenting on attacks against tankers in the Black Sea, allegedly carried out by Ukraine using the naval drone SeaBaby, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow might respond with attacks on Ukraine's Black Sea ports.
