Ukraine, US finalize investment fund agreement: Prime Minister Shmyhal
'Neither Ukraine’s president nor the government will consider signing this agreement separately from security guarantees,' says Denys Shmyhal

ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced Wednesday that his country and the US have finalized a draft agreement on the Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
“This agreement is directly tied to security guarantees,” he said, emphasizing that Ukraine will not sign it without assurances of long-term peace and stability, according to Interfax news agency.
Shmyhal described it as a legal framework for the future fund, which Ukraine and the US will manage equally. “This concerns future revenues, which is crucial -- not existing or past funds,” he noted, explaining that Ukraine will contribute 50% of earnings from resource extraction and infrastructure, with the US making corresponding contributions.
“The fund will invest in development, recovery, and security, with reinvested earnings supporting further reconstruction,” he added.
Shmyhal confirmed that Ukraine’s government will review the agreement before its signing during talks with the US.
