ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha addressed the Global Ireland Summit online on Tuesday and demanded increased pressure on Russia to achieve a full and lasting ceasefire.

“Ireland chose the right side of history and proved that neutrality does not mean indifference,” Sybiha wrote on X as he praised Irish support since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war.

He briefed participants on the battlefield situation, emphasizing that “despite the very difficult situation, Russia is not winning and Ukraine is not losing.”

Sybiha reiterated Ukraine’s readiness for a comprehensive ceasefire “on air, at sea, and on land,” and urged Dublin and other partners to push Moscow to “a real, durable ceasefire on the path to a real peace.”

He demanded stronger EU sanctions on Russia’s banking system and “shadow fleet,” along with a complete embargo on Russian energy imports to Europe, arguing they could accelerate the arrival of a just peace.
