ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday discussed bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between Kyiv and Warsaw with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda.
“On the way home (from the US), I had a meeting with a friend of Ukraine – President of Poland Andrzej Duda. We summed up the year, which brought historic challenges due to a full-scale war. Also we discussed strategic plans for the future, bilateral relations and interactions at the international level in 2023,” Zelenskyy said in a message on Telegram.
Zelenskyy thanked Duda for his country’s “unwavering and powerful support” for Ukraine, while no information was given on where the two presidents specifically met.
The Ukrainian president traveled to the US on Wednesday on his first foreign visit since the start of Russia’s “special military operation” in February.
In a joint press conference with Zelenskyy at the White House, US President Joe Biden announced a $1.85 billion military aid package for Ukraine, including a Patriot missile defense system.
During his trip, Zelenskyy also addressed the US Congress.
