Mother killed in Israeli airstrike in Khan Younis city in southern Gaza

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Palestinian doctors have saved the life of an unborn baby after his mother was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip.

“His mother was admitted to hospital after she was killed in an Israeli strike,” Asaad al-Nawajha, a doctor at the Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis, told Anadolu on Tuesday.

Immediately, doctors delivered the baby from the dead mother.

“He was still alive,” al-Nawajha said. “The baby was resuscitated and administered the necessary treatment. The baby was put on oxygen in the neonatal ward.”

The Palestinian doctor said the baby is now in a stable condition.

“His story is repeated every day in Gaza under Israeli bombardment,” he said.

Israel has launched relentless airstrikes on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.

More than 7,100 people have been killed in the conflict, including at least 5,791 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis.
