ANKARA (AA) - South Korea on Tuesday urged joint efforts to establish peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Addressing the ongoing 75th session of UN General Assembly, South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in reiterated his three-point plan for achieving long-sought peace with North Korea.
“Peace on Korean Peninsula will ensure peace in the region,” said Moon.
Moon said there should be “zero tolerance” for war on the Korean Peninsula.
He reiterated his call for “mutual respect” and “openness” in furthering relations with North Korea.
The two countries are technically at war since the 50s.
The South Korean president also referred to his country's fight against the deadly coronavirus.
“South Korea fought the COVID-19 with openness, transparency and democracy,” he told the UNGA.
