UPDATE - 1 killed as Israeli warplane strikes car in Lebanon’s Bekaa
Israeli artillery also shells outskirts of border towns in southern Lebanon
UPDATES DEATH TOLL, CHANGES LEAD

BEIRUT (AA) – A civilian was killed when an Israeli warplane struck a car in Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon on Sunday, according to local media.
A Syrian worker died of the injuries he sustained in the attack, the state-run National News Agency reported.
There was no immediate Israeli comment on the attack.
Separately, the Israeli artillery shelled the outskirts of the towns of Tayr Harfa and Alma al-Shaab in southern Lebanon, the broadcaster said.
No reports were yet available about casualties or damage.
Sunday’s attacks came as tensions continued to flare along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchanges of weapons fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The escalation comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip that has killed over 32,200 Palestinians following a Hamas attack last Oct. 7.
At least 300 people are estimated to have been killed in Lebanon, including 240 Hezbollah fighters, since the clashes erupted last October. Nearly 20 Israelis have been killed, according to Israeli figures.
