Crash occurred in Shah Alam, capital of Selangor state, with 6 passengers and 2 crew on board

ISTANBUL (AA) – At least 10 people, including six passengers and two crew members, were killed when an aircraft crashed in Malaysia on Thursday, police said.

The plane crashed in Elmina area in the capital Shah Alam of Selangor state, police told the state-run Bernama news agency.

The deceased include eight people who were onboard the aircraft, as well as the driver of a car and a motorcyclist that were hit by the crashing plane.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, the Beechcraft model 390 aircraft flew from Langkawi International Airport and was scheduled to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport for a domestic flight.

Videos and images of the crash site were widely shared on social media.​​​​​​​
