RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Two Palestinians were killed on Saturday as Israeli army stormed the West Bank city of Jenin.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said two people were killed and seven others injured in the raid.

Saturday’s fatalities pushed the death toll across the West Bank since Oct. 7 to 234, while 2,950 have been injured, according to the ministry.

Earlier, local media reported that the Israeli army besieged a refugee camp and two hospitals in Jenin.

They were the Jenin Government Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital that came under the Israeli attack.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army deployed snipers on the roofs of some buildings, while clashes broke out between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian gunmen from the city.

Tensions have been running high across the West Bank since the fighting broke out between Palestinian groups and Israel in Gaza on Oct. 7.

The four-day humanitarian pause between the Israeli army and Hamas came into effect on Friday morning in all areas of the Gaza Strip, temporarily stopping fighting for hostage swap and aid delivery to the Gaza Strip.
