ISLAMABAD (AA) - The death toll in a passenger van attack in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province climbed to 38, the interior minister said on Thursday.
"Every day we are facing terror attacks, right now 38 people killed in Kurram district," Mohsin Naqvi told reporters in the capital Islamabad.
Earlier, local police told Anadolu that gunmen fired on a convoy of passengers in the Lower Kurram area, killing several people, including three women.
In September, at least 46 people were killed in the tribal clashes in the Kurram district near the Afghan border. However, tribal elders later resolved the conflict and announced a cease-fire.
The latest attack came after the local tribes blocked the roads in the area for over two weeks earlier this month, and the local administration later opened the road and restored the traffic in the area.
