UPDATE 4 – Israeli army kills 76 Palestinians, injures dozens in fresh Gaza attacks

ISTANBUL/GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - At least 76 Palestinian civilians were killed and dozens injured in new Israeli strikes Thursday in the Gaza Strip, medics said.

In the southern city of Khan Younis, five people were killed in an airstrike that hit a car and motorcycle. In central Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp, two Palestinians, including a child, were killed in another airstrike, according to a statement by Al-Awda Hospital.

The hospital reported receiving eight wounded, including three children, when Israeli forces targeted civilians waiting for aid along Salah al-Din Street in the southern Wadi Gaza area.

In northern Gaza, the Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli hospitals in Gaza City received the bodies of five people killed in a strike on a home in Jabalia.

Nine more were killed in two airstrikes targeting civilians on Gaza Old Street and the Halabi intersection in Jabalia, according to medical officials.

In Gaza City’s al-Zeitoun neighborhood, four people were killed in a drone strike. In Sheikh Radwan, nine were killed and others wounded when a school sheltering displaced persons was hit.

In central Gaza, an Israeli drone strike killed 18 Palestinians and injured others in a crowded market in Deir al-Balah.

Three more civilians waiting for humanitarian aid were killed near the Netzarim corridor.

In the southeast of Deir al-Balah, one person was killed and two were wounded in separate artillery strikes, including on the Al-Bureij refugee camp.

In Khan Younis, a drone strike killed one person near a cemetery. Another man waiting for aid was killed between Rafah and Khan Younis, with dozens injured.

In the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, five people, including two young girls, were killed when a tent sheltering a family was bombed.

Israeli airstrikes also killed two people in central Khan Younis, while another was killed near the Jordanian field hospital.

In Rafah, three civilians waiting for aid were killed, and three more bodies were recovered after a strike on Bani Suheila in eastern Khan Younis.

At least four others were reported killed in unspecified strikes across southern Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli warships opened heavy fire along the coast of Khan Younis.

Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 56,300 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
