WASHINGTON (AA) - At least three people were killed Friday in an explosion at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Biscailuz Training Center, US Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed.
"I just spoke to @USAttyEssayli (US Attorney Bill Essayli) about what appears to be a horrific incident that killed at least three at a law enforcement training facility in Los Angeles," Bondi said on X, adding that authorities continue to investigate the cause of the blast.
She added that FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agents were on the ground to support.
The Los Angeles Times had reported earlier that the explosion occurred just before 7.30 a.m. local time (1430GMT). A source told the newspaper that it took place as a bomb squad was moving explosives. The facility is home to the Sheriff's special enforcement bureau.
