ISTANBUL (AA) - At least four people were killed and 30 others injured due to Russian airstrikes in various regions of Ukraine, according to local officials on Monday.

"A massive missile attack on Kryvyi Rih and Kryvyi Rih district (in the Dnipropetrovsk region). A shopping center, high-rise buildings and private houses - the enemy hit civilian objects. Unfortunately, there is one dead woman. One is wounded," Oleksiy Kuleba said in a statement on Telegram.

Kuleba said that the situation in Kryvyi Rih is complicated due to bad weather in the region, with reports of numerous disruptions in the region's power grids, which resulted in frequent power outages and the suspension of electric transport services.

Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhii Lysak reported that 27 others were injured in the city of Novomoskovsk due to a rocket attack, four of which are children.

Kuleba also said that the city of Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine experienced shelling that damaged civilian infrastructure and injured two people.

He added that two more people were also rescued from the city of Zmiiv in the Kharkiv region. In a later statement, Kharkiv Governor Oleh Synyehubov said that a woman rescued from under the rubble of a house in Zmiiv died.

Kuleba said that rockets struck residential areas in the Zaporizhzhia region, due to which four people have sustained injuries and are receiving necessary medical assistance. Zaporizhzhia Governor Yuriy Malashko later said on Telegram that five people in the region are in hospitals, with one being in serious condition.

"There were also explosions in Khmelnytskyi. Emergency services are working. Unfortunately, there is one dead," Kuleba added. Meanwhile, the region's acting governor, Serhiy Tyurin, reported that the number of deaths has increased to two.

Separately, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, claimed on Telegram that Russia used 59 missiles and drones to target Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi and Zaporizhzhia regions, adding that 26 of them were downed by air defense systems.

Commenting on the airstrikes, the Russian Defense Ministry said Moscow targeted "Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities" using long-range sea and air-based weapons, including Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles.

Almost 120 people have been killed and 480 others injured in multiple regions of Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv, due to Russian air strikes since Dec. 29, according to UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine Denise Brown.
