BIST 100 index loses 19.67 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index fell 1.26% to end Tuesday at 1,542.82 points.
Starting the day at 1,569.45 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index shed 19.67 points from 1,562.49 points at Monday’s close.
On Tuesday, the BIST 100 hovered between 1,522.08 and 1,575.70 points – 28 stocks on the index rose, 71 fell, and one was flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of some 1.18 trillion Turkish liras ($167.7 billion), the benchmark index posted daily trading volume of 40.3 billion Turkish liras ($5.8 billion).
Shares of gold miner Koza Altin, petrochemical company Petkim, and polyester producer Sasa Polyester saw the highest trading volumes.
Stocks of Sasa Polyester posted the best performance, up 8.77%, while shares of milk producer Pinar Sut did the worst, losing 5.69%.
One ounce of gold sold for $1,819.50 by market close, up from $1,818.00, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent oil was around $63.10 per barrel as of 6:10 p.m. local time (1510GMT) on Tuesday, with a daily range between $62.70 and $63.70.
