GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Israeli airstrikes across various areas of Gaza on Saturday killed 17 Palestinians, including a child, and left several others injured, just before the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

In one of the latest attacks, six Palestinians were killed in an Israeli artillery strike that targeted a house in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to a medical source.

Three women also lost their lives and several people were injured in an airstrike targeting a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in western Gaza City, the source said.

Another Palestinian was killed in an airstrike in Sheikh Zayed City in northern Gaza.

Earlier, a medical source told Anadolu that a Palestinian child was killed in an Israeli bombing that hit the Al-Shaboura refugee camp in the southern city of Rafah.

In another attack, four Palestinians were killed when Israeli airstrikes targeted a donkey-drawn cart transporting several people in the Qizan an-Najjar area, east of Khan Younis, also in the southern part of Gaza.

The Civil Defense announced that two Palestinians were killed and others wounded in a separate Israeli airstrike targeting a group of civilians on Mishtaha Street in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

In the northern Gaza Strip, several Palestinians were injured when Israeli artillery struck a stationary vehicle on Al-Manshiya Street in the town of Beit Lahia.

Witnesses reported intermittent Israeli artillery shelling on various locations across Gaza, including Beit Lahia, the western parts of Rafah, central Gaza, and east of Gaza City.

The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing over 920 people, injuring more than 2,000 others, and shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

More than 50,200 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 114,000 injured in a brutal Israeli military onslaught on Gaza since October 2023.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
