Georgia records highest daily infections since outbreak began on Feb. 26

NUR SULTAN (AA) - Health authorities in Eurasian and Central Asian countries on Monday reported new coronavirus infections, related deaths and recoveries.
- Georgia
Georgia recorded its highest daily infections since the COVID-19 outbreak entered the country on Feb. 26.
As many as 165 more cases brought the total to 2,433, including 19 deaths.
- Ukraine
Ukraine’s COVID-19 tally rose to 156,797, with 2,462 more infections recorded over the past 24 hours.
The death toll swelled by 33 to reach 3,211, while 650 more recoveries took the total to 69,543.
More than 15,000 tests were conducted in the period.
- Uzbekistan
Some 333 new cases raised Uzbekistan’s overall count to 47,620. Four more virus-linked fatalities took the death toll to 394.
At least 136 more patients healed over the past day, bringing the tally to 44,002.
As many as 3,224 patients remain in treatment at hospitals.
- Armenia
The caseload in the former Soviet republic climbed by 107 to reach 45,969.
Three more virus-related fatalities pushed the death toll to 919, while recoveries stand at 41,693.
The treatment of 3,075 patients continues.
- Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan's case count rose by 52 to reach 106,855.
Four more patients died, bringing the death toll to 1,671, while 12 more recoveries raised the total to 100,627.
Some 4,500 COVID-19 patients are under treatment across the country.
- Kyrgyzstan
The landlocked Central Asian country recorded 47 more virus cases, raising its total to 44,928, including 1,063 deaths and 41,023 recoveries.
Some 507 people are under treatment at hospitals, while 1,903 are being looked after at home.
- Moldova
Moldova reported seven new fatalities from the novel coronavirus, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,130, the Health Ministry said in a statement.
Another 229 infections were reported over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 43,207, while a total of 31,828 people have recovered from the virus, it added.
- Uzbekistan
At least two deaths and 216 new cases were reported in Uzbekistan, according to a Health Ministry statement.
The death toll in the country reached 396 and the total number of cases climbed to 47,836, including 44,375 recoveries.
- Belarus
The Health Ministry in Belarus announced that 187 new infections were reported in the country, pushing the total number to 74,360, including 72,609 recoveries.
The death toll in the country rose to 756 with six additions, it added.
- Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan registered 76 new virus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 38,403, said the Health Ministry.
The death toll rose to 564 as two more people died of the virus. Most recently, 104 people recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 35,860.
- Tajikistan
The Health Ministry in Tajikistan confirmed that the total number of cases rose to 9,088, with 39 additions over the past 24 hours. The death toll stands at 72, it added.
