UPDATE - Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul closes higher to end 4-day losing streak
BIST 100 gains 1.15 points, or 0.06%, from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,805.30 points on Thursday, ending its four-day losing streak.
Starting the day at 1,835.33 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 1.15 points, or 0.06%, from Wednesday’s close of 1,804.15 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 1,726.32 points, while its daily high was 1,849.33 points.
The total market value of BIST 100 was approximately 1.44 trillion Turkish liras ($115.9 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 35.4 billion Turkish liras ($3.09 billion).
A total of 43 stocks on the index rose during the day, 53 fell, and four remained unchanged compared to Wednesday’s close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, glassmaker Sise Cam, and iron and steel producer Eregli.
Shares of pharmaceutical firm Turk Ilac Serum performed the best with a 9.96% increase, while stocks of four companies declined more than 4% each.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,810.70 by the day’s end, up from $1,792.25 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.25% to $75.45 per barrel as of 6.18 p.m. local time (1518GMT).
