UPDATE - Turkey's Borsa Istanbul ends Thursday at new high
BIST 100 gains 116.29 points, or 5.38%, from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index close Thursday with a new record high of 2,278.55 points.
Starting the day at 2,186.58 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 116.29 points, or 5.38%, from the previous close of 2,162.26 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,175.50 points, while its daily high was 2,278.55 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.8 trillion Turkish liras ($124 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of approximately 59.8 billion Turkish liras ($3.9 billion).
While 98 stocks on the index rose during the day, only two fell, compared to Wednesday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by glassmaker Sise Cam, private lender Garanti BVVA, and iron and steel producer Kardemir.
Shares of Iskenderun iron and steel performed the best with a 9.95% rise, while Anadolu Grubu Holding saw the sharpest drop, 3.8%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,785.50 by the day’s end, up from $1,768.80 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.9% to $74.54 per barrel as of 6.44 p.m. local time (1544GMT).
