UPDATE - Turkey's Borsa Istanbul tests record 2,050 level

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended with gains on Thursday, hitting an all-time high of 2,053.47 points during the session and closing the day at a record high of 2,031.44 points.
Starting the day at 2,013.12 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 26.89 points, or 1.34%, from the previous close of 2,004.55 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,010.20 points, while its daily high was 2,053.47 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.63 trillion Turkish liras ($120 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of approximately 51.2 billion Turkish liras ($3.72 billion).
While 54 stocks on the index rose during the day, 44 fell, and two remained unchanged compared to Wednesday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, glassmaker Sise Cam, and iron and steel producer Kardemir.
Shares of Turkish Airlines performed the best with its shares up 7.95%, while stocks of real estate investment firm Torunlar saw the sharpest drop, 3.4%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,782.40 by market close, down from $1,790.15 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was down 0.8% to $75.21 per barrel as of 6.59 p.m. local time (1559GMT).
