UPDATE - Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up 0.45% at Friday's close
BIST 100 index gains nearly 450 points versus Thursday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index climbed 0.45% to close at 98,783.36 points on Friday.
After starting the day at 98,963.19 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 446.51 points from the previous close of 98,336.85 points.
The benchmark index hovered between 97,422.19 and 99,214.08 points during Friday's trading.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 651.4 billion Turkish liras ($115.7 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 8.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
On the last transaction day of the week, 46 stocks on the index were on the rise, 43 were on the decline, and 11 were flat compared to the previous close.
The top listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding ($7.8 billion), and private lenders Garanti ($6.76 billion) and Akbank ($6.12 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, state lender Halkbank, and Garanti.
Shares of automotive giant Tofas were the top gainers -- up 3.97 percent -- and major appliances producer Vestel dropped the most, 3.96 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.5980 at close, versus Thursday's close of 5.5970.
The euro/lira rate also rose slightly to 6.2910 at Friday's close, versus 6.2890 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 7.2920 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 7.3630 at the close on Thursday.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold reached $1,288.70 by market close, up from 1,285.05 at the previous close.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $69.75 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Friday.
