UPDATE - Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up some 3.4% at close
BIST 100 index increases over 3,250 points, while Turkish lira gains in value against foreign currencies

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index jumped 3.37% to close Monday at 99,735.68 points.
While Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 98,662.85 points, up 2.26%, it soared 3,250.36 points from last week's close of 96,485.32 points.
The benchmark index hovered between 98,374.47 and 99,970.58 points during Monday's trading.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 664.6 billion Turkish liras ($115.5 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 8.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
On the first transaction day of the week, 84 stocks on the index rose, 12 were down, and four were flat compared to the previous close.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding ($7.97 billion), private lenders Garanti ($7.24 billion), and Akbank ($6.65 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by Garanti, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and state lender Halkbank.
Shares of private lender ICBC Turkey Bank rose the most, up 18.11%, while aviation company Pegasus Airlines did the worst, with its shares down 3.95%.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,394.20 by market close, down from $1,412.40 the Friday's close.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $65.70 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Monday.
***The lira gained strength against foreign currencies in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump dismissing the possibility of sanctions on Turkey over an arms deal row.
