Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Alexander Van der Bellen hold closed-door meeting

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Austrian counterpart Alexander Van der Bellen met in New York City on Wednesday.
No further information was released about the closed-door meeting.
After the meeting, Van der Bellen said on Twitter that the bilateral relations between Austria and Türkiye have developed "very positively" this year, adding: "It is important to maintain this dynamic."
"I thanked President Erdogan for his commitment in the conflict between Russia & Ukraine to look for solutions. However, the current development must be taken very seriously. Now it is more about international unity and determination," he added.
Later in the day, Erdogan will attend an evening reception hosted by US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden. He will address leading US businessmen at another dinner event.
The president is also expected to hold talks with other world leaders in the US city, where the 77th UN General Assembly is underway.
