UPDATE WITH HAKAN FIDAN’ COUNTERPART MEETINGS IN NEW YORK

TORONTO (AA) - Türkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan addressed the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting of the Summit of the Future held Thursday on the margins of the 78th UN General Assembly, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Fidan emphasized steps needed for the transformation of global governance, strengthening multilateralism and reform of the UN.
He reiterated Türkiye's commitment in that direction, it wrote on X.
Meanwhile, Fidan also held separate meetings with his counterparts from Belarus, Bahrain, Spain and Panama in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
Following a meeting with Panamanian top diplomat Janaina Tewaney, a "Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Political Consultation Mechanism" was signed between Panama and Ankara, the Turkish Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a post on X.
