UPDATE – Turkish, Maltese foreign ministers to meet in Ankara for talks

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will host his Maltese counterpart Ian Borg for talks in the capital Ankara on Thursday.

"Bilateral relations as well as Türkiye-EU relations, regional developments and current international matters will be discussed at the meetings," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The ministry did not share further information about the upcoming meeting between the top diplomats.

Ahead of his visit to Ankara, Borg on Wednesday inaugurated Malta's Consulate General in Istanbul.

"Another milestone, strengthening our presence in such a strategic country," Borg said on Twitter.
