Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 loses 17.60 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,372.98 points on Thursday, down by 1.27% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,387.74 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 17.60 points from the previous close of 1,390.58 points.
During the day, the index's value hovered between 1,372.54 points and 1,390.89 points – 13 stocks on the index rose, 85 fell, and two remained flat compared to Wednesday.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1 trillion Turkish liras ($119 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 10.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.3 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and iron and steel producer Kardemir.
Shares of real estate investment trust Torunlar Gayrimenkul performed the best, rising 9%, while stocks of pipe and tube producer Erbosan suffered the worst, falling 9.99%.
One ounce of gold was traded for $1,811.65 by market close, up from $1,803.90 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $73.50 per barrel as of 6:15 p.m. local time (1515GMT).
