UPDATE - Turkish stocks end Monday 0.52% up
BIST 100 index rises 535 points from last week's close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands at around 5.61

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up 0.52% to close at 103,373.07 points on Monday.
Starting the week at 103,146.74 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 535.88 points from 102,837.19 points at Friday's close.
During Monday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 102,524.14 points and 103,526.30 points -- 54 stocks on the index rose, 31 fell, and fifteen were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of nearly 688 billion Turkish liras ($121.6 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 5.8 billion Turkish liras ($1 billion).
Shares of national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, private lender Garanti BBVA, and defense company Aselsan saw the highest trading volumes on Monday.
Shares of Systems integration provider Netas Telekomunikasyon A.S. showed the best performance -- up 6.40% -- as stocks of conglomerate Ittifak Holding did the worst, falling 4%.
One ounce of gold was sold for $1,419.70 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,418.00 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was $63.44 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Monday -- with a day range of $62.86 to $63.66.
At the beginning of 2019, a barrel of Brent oil was sold for around $53.
