UPDATE - Turkish stocks end Tuesday 1.68% down
BIST 100 index falls 1,462 points from previous close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands around 6.06

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday down 1.68% to close at 85,309.58 points.
After starting the day at 86,943.35 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index decreased 1,461.89 points from 86,771.47 points at Monday's close.
Peaking at 87,153.69 points, the BIST 100's daily low was 84,976.62 points during Tuesday's trading -- 17 stocks on the index rose, 79 fell, and four were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of nearly 564.3 billion Turkish liras ($93.4 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 5.42 billion Turkish liras (some $895.5 million).
Stocks of Garanti BBVA, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and mining company Koza Madencilik recorded the highest trading volumes on Tuesday.
Shares of Ege Endustri, which manufactures components for the automotive industry, were the top gainers with a 4.43% hike, as stocks of prominent Turkish sports club Galatasaray saw the biggest drop, falling 11.04%.
One ounce of gold was sold for $1,278.85 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,273.00 at Monday's close.
The price of Brent oil was $72.08 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Tuesday -- with a day range of $71.76 to $72.52.
