UPDATE - Turkish stocks end Tuesday up 2%
BIST 100 index rises 1,740 points from previous close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands around 5.99

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday up 2.02% to close at 88,022.94 points.
After starting the day at 86,615.43 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1,740.4 points from 86,282.54 points at Monday's close.
Peaking at 88,022.94 points, the BIST 100's daily low was 86,044.32 points during Tuesday's trading -- 73 stocks on the index rose, 22 fell, and five were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of nearly 583 billion Turkish liras ($96 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 6.56 billion Turkish liras (some $1.1 billion).
By market capitalization, Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding, private lenders Garanti BBVA and Akbank were the leading companies of BIST 100.
Stocks of Garanti BBVA, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and leading petrochemicals producer Petkim recorded the highest trading volumes on Tuesday.
Shares of supermarket chain Sok Marketler (SOKM) were the top gainers with a 6.80% hike, as stocks of leasing company Is Finansal Kiralama (ISFIN) saw the biggest drop, falling 8.83%.
One ounce of gold was sold for $1,298.60 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,283.90 at Monday's close.
The price of Brent oil was $70.92 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Tuesday -- with a day range of $69.86 to $71.44.
