UPDATE - Turkish stocks go up at midweek close
BIST 100 index rises over 850 points from previous close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands at 5.7530

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up 0.82% to close at 104,828.18 points on Wednesday.
Starting the day at 104,049.94 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 855.82 points from 103,972.36 points at Tuesday's close.
During midweek trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 103,682.44 points and 105,025.20 points -- 60 stocks on the index rose, 31 fell and nine remained flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of nearly 711 billion Turkish liras ($123.3 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 9.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion).
By market capitalization, Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding, private lenders Garanti BBVA and Akbank were the top companies of BIST 100.
The shares of national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, defense company Aselsan, and aviation company Pegasus posted the highest trading volumes.
Shares of conglomerate Metro Holding (METRO) performed the best, rising 20%, as stocks of casting manufacturer Cemas Dokum (CEMAS) did the worst with a 6.5% drop.
An ounce of gold sold for $1,455.60 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,465.35 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was around $62.37 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Wednesday.
