WASHINGTON (AA) - The US and Argentina have reached a deal on critical minerals, the Argentine Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
The two countries signed an agreement for strengthening the supply of critical minerals in mining and processing, the ministry said in a statement.
The statement came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted an inaugural Critical Minerals Ministerial at the State Department.
The US and Argentia "reaffirm their strategic partnership and their commitment to developing a secure, resilient and competitive supply chain," it added.
The ministry said the framework instrument represents an opportunity for economic and productive growth for Argentia.
Argentina's mining exports reached $6.037 billion in 2025, it said.
"Argentina is on track to increase its total exports to around $100 billion in the next seven years, with a growing contribution from mining, which could exceed $20 billion within that timeframe and reach more than $30 billion by the end of the next decade," it said.
