US consumer confidence index revised down in October
Figure 53.6 in October, below preliminary reading of 55

ISTANBUL (AA) - The US consumer confidence index was revised downward 1.5 points to 53.6 in October, the University of Michigan announced Friday.
While the data was revised downward, the preliminary data for this month had been announced as 55.
The consumer confidence index was measured at 55.1 in September.
The current economic conditions index, which measures Americans' assessment of financial conditions, declined 1.8 points to 58.6 in October.
The consumer expectations index, which reflects consumers' long-term forecasts, also fell 1.4 points to 50.3.
Consumers' short-term inflation expectations fell from 4.7% to 4.6% in October, while long-term inflation expectations rose from 3.7% to 3.9%.
