US factory orders increase 0.2% in September
New orders for manufactured durable goods decline after four consecutive monthly increases

ANKARA (AA) - US factory orders rose $1.3 billion, or 0.2%, to $515.9 billion in September, its 16th increase in 17 months, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.
The market expectation was an increase of 0.1%.
The increase in the measure of the change in the total value of new purchase orders placed with manufacturers was revised from 1.2% to 1% in August to stand at $514.6 billion.
New orders for manufactured durable goods in September, however, declined after four consecutive monthly increases, falling $0.9 billion, or 0.3%, to $261.4 billion. The increase in August was also revised from 1.8% to 1.3%.
Most of the decline in durable goods came from transportation equipment, which fell $1.8 billion, or 2.3%, to $77.7 billion in August.
