US goods trade deficit falls 14.6% in October
September's record level revised up to $97 billion

ANKARA (AA) - US goods trade deficit declined by $14.1 billion, or 14.6%, to $82.9 billion in October, from the previous month's record level, according to the US Commerce Department's Census Bureau data released Wednesday.
The market expectation for the deficit was to come at $94.9 billion. The September's record high figure was revised up to $97 billion, from $96.3 billion.
Exports of goods in October came at $157.4 billion, which was $15.3 billion more than September. Imports of goods for October were $240.3 billion, a $1.1 billion increase from September.
Wholesale inventories for October were estimated to stand at $758.5 billion by the end of last month, up 2.2% from September. They were up 14.3% year-on-year.
Retail inventories for October were estimated at $603.6 billion by the end of month, which was up 0.1% from the month before. They were down 0.7% from October 2020.
