US October unemployment data not to be released

'We will maybe be able to concoct something, but we will never actually know for sure what the unemployment rate was,' says director of US National Economic Council

ISTANBUL (AA) - US unemployment data will not be released for October, Kevin Hassett, the director of the US National Economic Council, said Thursday.

The October employment payroll report will be able to be calculated, but the household survey was not completed, he told Fox News.

"We will get sort of half the jobs report. Most everything else, I think, be able to talk to the correct number after we look back, but we will never know what the unemployment rate was in October," he said. "We will maybe be able to concoct something, but we will never actually know for sure what the unemployment rate was."

The unemployment rate was at 4.3% in August but the figures for September were postponed last month.
