US retail inventories up 0.7% in September

ISTANBUL (AA) - Retail inventories in the US rose 0.7% in September, according to the Commerce Department's Census Bureau advance figures released Tuesday.

The figure, which measures the change in the total value of goods held in inventory by the nation's retailers, was estimated at $704.9 billion.

Retail inventories for August were revised up from an increase of 0.6% to a gain of 0.8%, the agency said in a statement.

Annually, retail inventories were up 3.8% in September from the same month last year.
