US: Rudy Giuliani denies seeking presidential pardon
Former New York City mayor terms New York Times report 'lie,' 'fake news'
By Beyza Binnur Donmez
ANKARA (AA) - US President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani rejected on Tuesday an alleged discussion between the two on a possible presidential pardon.
The New York Times in a report attributed the discussion to two anonymous senior officials familiar with the matter.
"#FakeNews NYT lies again. Never had the discussion they falsely attribute to an anonymous source, "Giuliani said on Twitter. "Hard to keep up with all their lies."
The report said that the former New York City mayor, who has not been charged with any crimes, sought a preemptive pardon from Trump last week.
Last week, the US president granted his former national security adviser Michael Flynn a "full pardon."
Flynn was charged with lying to federal investigators during a probe into Russian role in 2016 presidential election.
