US stock market opens higher

NEW YORK (AA) - The U.S. stock market opened higher on Monday with the Dow adding 28 points to begin the day at 22,433.

The S&P 500 rose 2 points to 2,521 while the Nasdaq gained 10 points to 6,506.

There was a moment of silence on Wall Street for the victims of the deadly Las Vegas attack before the bell.

At least 50 people were killed and more than 200 others wounded at a country music concert late Sunday night in one of the worst mass shootings in recent U.S. history.
