US stocks close lower with major firms' losses

NEW YORK (AA) - Wall Street closed lower on the final trading day of the year after losses by major American companies.

The Dow lost 57 points to finish at 19,762 and the S&P fell 10 points to 2,238.

The Nasdaq declined 48 points to close at 5,383.

Google saw its shares decrease 1.3 percent, while Amazon and department store Macy's had their stock prices decline 2 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively.
