US stocks open higher as producer inflation softens
Oil prices decline more than 1%

ANKARA (AA) - US stocks opened higher on Tuesday as annual producer inflation showed a slowdown.
The Dow Jones rose 268 points, or 0.8%, to 33,805 at 9.50 a.m. EDT (1450GMT), while the S&P 500 added 55 points, or 1.41%, to 4,011.
The Nasdaq gained 229 points, or 2.02%, to 11,424.
Annual US producer inflation rose 8% in October, according to Labor Department figures released earlier, down from September's 8.4% increase.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.6% to 23.58. The 10-year US Treasury yield lost 1.3% to 3.816%.
The dollar index lost 0.55% to 106.07, still around its highest in 20 years, while the euro jumped 0.7% to $1.0396 against the greenback.
Precious metals were down, with gold falling 0.1% to $1,770 per ounce and silver losing 1.1% to $21.74.
Oil prices dropped more than 1%. Global benchmark Brent crude traded at $92.12 per barrel for a loss of 1.1%. US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude was around $84.86 – down 1.2%.
