US stocks recovering after S&P, Nasdaq end 5-day winning streak
Oil prices decline around 3.7%

ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks were higher Wednesday, recovering from previous session's losses.
The Dow Jones was up 175 points, or 0.5%, to 35,264 at 11.54 a.m. EDT, while the S&P 500 was up 19 points, or 0.42%, to 4,557.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq increased 84 points, or 0.59%, to 14,284.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq ended their five-day winning streak on Tuesday as US stock exchanges closed with losses.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 3.4% to 12.89. The 10-year US Treasury yield rose 0.16% to 4.423%.
The dollar index added 0.49% to 104.08, while the euro shed 0.39% to $1.0869 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold losing 0.4% to $1,990 an ounce and silver decreasing 0.5% to $23.62.
Oil prices declined around 3.7%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $79.37 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $74.77.
