US trade deficit for goods falls 4.4% in June

ISTANBUL (AA) - The US trade deficit for goods fell 4.4% to $87.8 billion in June, according to data released Thursday.

The trade deficit, which is the difference between imported and exported goods, saw a decline of approximately $4 billion from $91.9 billion in May, the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said in a report.

The expectation was for the figure to come in at $91.8 billion.

Exports in June came in at $162.5 billion, which was $0.4 billion more than May exports, according to the report.

Last month, imports stood at $250.3 -- $3.6 billion less than the previous month's imports.
