US: Trump to meet Russia's Lavrov in DC

NEW YORK (AA) - U.S. President Donald Trump will hold a meeting in D.C. with Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday, according to a late-night White House statement.

The meeting at the Oval office will take place at 10.30 a.m. (1430GMT) and will be closed to the press, the White House said.

Minister Lavrov was already set to meet Secretary of State Rex Tillerson "to discuss Ukraine, Syria, and bilateral issues", according to an earlier statement by the State Department.
