Uzbek president arrives in neighboring Kazakhstan on 3-day official visit
Mirziyoyev to attend 1st Supreme Interstate Council meeting, participate in consultative meeting of Central Asian leaders and regional summit with Japan

ISTANBUL (AA) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Wednesday arrived in neighboring Kazakhstan on a three-day official visit that is set to end on Friday.
A statement by the Uzbek presidency said that Mirziyoyev arrived at Astana International Airport, where he was greeted by his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The statement said Mirziyoyev and Tokayev will chair the first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Supreme Interstate Council on Thursday.
The talks will discuss deepening bilateral ties, as well as expanding cooperation in multiple spheres, including trade, investment, transport, communications, energy, and agriculture, the statement further said.
It also said Mirziyoyev is planning to participate in the 6th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Central Asia-Japan summit, both of which will be held in Astana.
The Kazakh presidency also confirmed Mirziyoyev’s arrival, adding that a number of important documents are planned to be signed during his visit.
