ATHENS (AA) – The volcanic activity in Iceland that started on Monday has subsided, the local media reported on Wednesday.
The activity of the volcanic eruption at Sundhnuks crater is now stable and little has changed during the night, said public broadcaster RUV, citing the country’s National Meteorological Office.
It added that the eruption that commenced on Monday evening has subsided.
The town of Grindavik, close to the crater, appears, for now, not to be at risk from the lava flow, which is moving north, away from the town, according to the broadcaster.
Iceland is home to a total of 32 active volcanos.
