Dow gains 10 points; other indexes down

NEW YORK (AA) – Wall Street closed mixed, but posted its third weekly gain Friday after strong retail sales were overshadowed by market concerns about terrorist attacks in France.
The Dow Jones rose 10 points to end the day at 18,516 points, the S&P 500 was down 2 points to close at 2,161 and the Nasdaq lost 4 points to finish the day at 5,029.
The Dow closed at an all-time high for the fourth day in a row, while the S&P ended its week-long rally.
On a weekly basis, the Dow rose 2 percent, while the S&P and the Nasdaq each gained 1.5 percent.
Retail sales for June rose 0.6 percent, compared to the previous month, beating market expectations of 0.1, the Commerce Department said Friday.
The strong macroeconomic results were lost in market concerns after a terrorist attack in France caused losses in European stock markets and negatively affected indexes in the U.S.
Wall Street may post new record levels next week with strong data and second quarter earnings from American companies, according to analysts.
