Washington's travel warning on China obstructs bilateral cooperation, says Beijing
Saying it is a country 'under the rule of law,' China objects to US travel advisory issued last week

ISTANBUL (AA) – Beijing on Monday urged the US to withdraw its travel advisory for China, saying it hinders bilateral cooperation.
Urging the White House to “correct its latest travel warning,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning called the warning an “obstruction to China-US cooperation.”
“China is a country under the rule of law, and conducting security inspections is a decision made based on laws and facts,” said Mao, according to Chinese daily Global Times.
“China welcomes foreign citizens and enterprises to the country either for travel or doing business and protects their security and legitimate rights, including freedom of exit and entry,” she added.
Last week Washington advised travelers to reconsider traveling to China due to Beijing’s “indiscriminate application of local laws, including the imposition of exit bans, and the potential for unjustified detentions.”
