Karoline Leavitt to become 1st press secretary in US history to serve while pregnant

ISTANBUL (AA) - White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Friday that she is expecting her second child next year in May, Fox News reported on Friday.

Fox News Digital reported that Leavitt is expecting her second child and is due to give birth to a baby girl in May 2026.

Leavitt, who shared the news of her pregnancy days before the New Year, expressed her feelings about motherhood.

“My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother. My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth," she said

Leavitt, 28, also said she plans to carry on with her duties as White House spokesperson throughout her pregnancy.

The senior White House official and her 60-year-old husband, Nicholas Riccio, have a son named Niko, who was born in July 2024.

Leavitt will become the first press secretary in US history to serve while pregnant.
