Wildlife defense group urges ‘greater’ climate action
'Acting against growing loss of nature, promoting nature-based solutions to help us end climate crisis,' says wildlife NGO

ANKARA (AA) – An international environmental NGO Thursday urged people across the world to pressure world leaders at COP25 talks for immediate action on climate change.
“World leaders are gathering at the UN climate conference COP25 right now to take critical decisions for people and the planet. It is crucial that they urgently commit to a greater climate action. Add your voice and put pressure on them to protect people and nature from the climate crisis,” World Wildlife Fund (WWF) said in a statement.
It also addressed the surge in the devastating impacts of the rising global temperature on people and the nature, and highlighted the latter as “a critical ally” in fight against the adverse impacts of the climate change, like reducing greenhouse emissions.
“It is vital therefore that we act against the growing loss of nature caused by human activities -- and promote and support nature-based solutions that will help us end the climate crisis.”
The two-week COP25 UN climate summit began in Madrid on Dec. 2, with world leaders and activists holding talks on tackling climate change.
COP25, set to end on Friday, is the final conference of its kind before 2020, when many nations must submit new climate action plans.
The WWF was established in 1961 as an international fundraising organization to work in collaboration with existing conservation groups and bring substantial financial support to the conservation movement internationally.
